This is by far the cleanest, brightest, and most organized video game store I have ever visited. They deal in everything from retro titles to brand new trades, and lots of curios and fun trinkets. They make sure you get what you need without being pushy. I will be back, guaranteed.

The store had a really good selection of video games, especially retro games. I purchased a game that was a bit dirty and they took the time to clean the disc before I left. I definitely recommend them to anyone who's a video game collector or enthusiast.

Large selection of games for older systems (LOVE THIS!) And the place is actually not crowded, there is space to walk and browse without feeling like you're stuck in a closet. Prices are reasonable, staff is friendly and seemed quite knowledgeable. 5*s all around!

I've been going here for a couple years now and it's always a pleasant experience. The staff is really nice and helpful, and they're always willing to reciprocate/spark casual conversation about whatever game it is you're hoping to look at. It's a chill, friendly environment, and that's more uncommon at game stores than you might think. The game selection itself isn't the best I've ever seen, but still very good. Most of the game stores with more vast selections I've been to are closer to the heart of more populated areas. Even still, I hardly ever leave The Tech Exchange without a game. As someone who's been to a ton of game stores (including others in SWVA with belligerent prices) I find the prices really great. They usually have a great sense of how much condition should lower/raise prices but for the most part items are right around market price. I've even gotten a few things at really good deals! It's super refreshing because the other game stores in SWVA generally have items in awful condition that are somehow still marked ABOVE market price. I've been really happy with the trade-in prices too, and if I'm not, I simply don't trade them in. Remember, though, you aren't going to get close to market price for a trade in, but it's wayyy better than GameStop here. I had a great experience a couple months ago where an employee buffed out one of my discs - that I held back from trading in - for free. It's typically just a dollar for that service but it still meant a ton! I haven't bought many non-video game related tech, but when I have, I've been happy with those purchases as well. Also -- the music inside is always on point and I really enjoy The Tech Exhange's social media content. I'm a student at Virginia Tech and I'll be coming here as long as I'm in the area!

Wonderful prices, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great collection of games, DVDs and tech. Sooo much better than that other local videogame store in Roanoke VA.

Wide selection of games, consoles, TVs, laptops, Tablets, etc... etc... etc. Store is well laid out, staff are knowledgeable and easy to work with, and prices are reasonable. I wouldn't say come here if you're looking for the lowest price, but if you're aiming to find high quality retro gaming then this place is worth a stop!

I came in just to peek around and see what I could find. I couldn’t find any cd rom PC games (I’m into old computers and old computer games). I asked one of the employees, whose name I unfortunately didn’t catch if they had any lying around to which she directed me to a 50 cent copy of the sims 3. They wound up giving it to me, which I thought was insanely cool. Me and my fiancé will definitely be back to buy a PlayStation 1 and a copy of crash bandicoot. On another note, super cool store, lots of variety and organization. Not many cool places like this left. Thanks for existing and keeping retro games alive and out there!

This is my favorite retro game store in Roanoke. They have plenty of second hand games you grew up enjoying as a child all the way up to almost new stuff. It is very neat and organized. If you follow their facebook page you can catch trade ins as they arrive. The pricing is great, they clean and test each console backed by a two week warranty period just in case you encounter any issues. Store redit or cash is offered for trade ins. The team makes you feel welcome and is more than willing to answer any questions you have. This truly is a hidden gem of the Roanoke Valley.
